Artist Statment
I created my first tile series using resist techniques including wax, sticker, and tape resist. My second tile series was created using carving techniques using sgraffito, mishima, and water etching. While thinking of what design to create, I thought of the work I did last year and wanted to revise them. I also tend to create stuff that has to do with plants, so I wanted to continue my theme. My tiles came out successful, because I took the time to make it creative and clean. I would like to use the tape resist technique again, because you get to be creative and it makes clean lines.
